Our teaching academy provides and facilitates medical education to undergraduate clinical students from The University of Birmingham medical school. These learning tools have been created by clinicians and academics affiliated with the University of Birmingham Medical School. The resources here are designed to help you achieve the best learning experience from the clinical exposure you have but are also an excellent preparatory and revision tool.

Welcome to Tomorrow's Clinicians Series

The Ron Grimley Undergraduate Centre is proud to present a series of clinical skills e-learning modules.

A key feature includes a video detailing the chosen module. All videos have been filmed and edited entirely in-house by the RGUC Media Team.

They utilise realistic scenarios to portray an accurate description of each clinical process, and deal with specific clinical skills procedures in detail, correctly completing the relevant task in a safe and efficient manner.

Here you can access, clearly illustrated and narrated videos which will guide you through some important and common clinical anatomy topics. The use of intra-operative footage, 3D animation and radiological images creates both a realistic and engaging experience.

Aseptic Technique Online Training

This course has been designed to highlight the areas necessary for good practice and to enable you to gain an understanding of what is expected.

Aseptic Technique Washing Hands signThis course will:

  • Provide members with current guidance.

  • Define asepsis in relation to the workplace

  • Discuss principles of aseptic technique.

  • Explore indications for using an aseptic technique.

This course includes assessment questions for you to consolidate your knowledge of aseptic technique.

Examination in Practice Logo

Welcome to the Examination in Practice Series

An interactive experience created to assist your learning in important clinical topics. It will guide you step by step through the important features and techniques of the various clinical examinations you will need to perform as you encounter patients with different complaints and pathologies.
