We are delighted to announce that Consultant Anaesthetist and RGUC Senior Academy Tutor, Dr Nicola Calthorpe, has been awarded a Recognising Excellence in Medical Education (REME) Teaching Award on behalf of University of Birmingham medical students.

REME was set up by medical students to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of teachers who put a great deal of effort in preparing students to become doctors of tomorrow. The award provides recognition of teachers’ contributions to the student experience.

Dr Calthorpe has also been heavily involved in the development and initiation of the RGUC Simulation Centre, which will be formally opened next month.
